Build the bridge to the life you envision.
Grow personal authenticity, adaptability, and independence in therapy, while developing the tools to reach your aspirational self.
Hi, I’m John Gray.
MA NCC LPC CAS
Over more than 30 years in mental health, I have dedicated my practice to helping people navigate life’s challenges with insight, resilience, and purpose.
At Sionnach Counseling, I view therapy as a bridge — connecting where you are to where you want to be. The name Sionnach - Gaelic for fox - holds deep symbolic meaning. The fox is often seen as a guide, moving between worlds, adapting, and offering perspective.
In my work, I draw on this symbolism, helping clients explore self-discovery, personal growth, and the balance between meaning and identity. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, or transformation, I am here to walk alongside you as an active co-creator of the tools for growth and change.

Learn from the past. Work with the present. Realize an ideal future.
I don’t want to be your therapist forever. I want to have a long-term impact, because you walked away with tools for the future.
I believe therapy is most effective when it’s collaborative and there’s room to make mistakes. In session, we’ll co-create goals, pull from different systems, and find the mix that works best for the goals we set.
Generally, this includes elements of talk therapy combined with mind-body work to heal the nervous system. It also layers in the impact of culture, community, and social structures on how we develop and nurture a healthy sense of self.

This is a time for us to connect, ask questions, and get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit. I’m also happy to give references to other therapists in my network who I think might work well for you. (It’s usually a good idea to talk to a few therapists before making a decision.)
